Silent Hill, great cast, great set, no scares and no atmosphere!
According to film critics the upcoming Silent Hill movie is yet another dissapointing game movie. It was set to be a promosing film with plenty of atmosphere and scares but has continued the legacy of bad game movies. This is especially dissapointing to me because I am a big fan of the Silent Hill games and would have liked to see this one done right.
It started off well with the director, Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf) getting a great cast that really suited their roles, building a great set which was dark and suited the Silent Hill town. It fell short when it came to the scares. There are none in sight.
Also the film is too long coming in at 127 minutes, and that was cut down from 3 and a half hours which is far too long for a film of this type! So all we can do is hope that one day, someone will make a film based on a game that we can all truly enjoy!
Im a student....nuff said :D (oh and me names kris!)

Tomb Raider wasn’t a bad game-to-movie conversion though, so I think there is still room for improvement and researchers should really be careful of which games should and should not be marketed as movies.
They ruined doom and resident evil, almost to the point where I won’t play them anymore due to the movies but there is still room.

I thought Tomb Raider was the worst one….didn’t mind the other 2 that much….but they still could have been a LOT better! Nothing can put me off the games though…especially resident evil and doom!

The move isn’t really like any of the doom games though which is what kinda pissed me off. The games are all about these monsters coming from hell (which is more interesting if u ask me) They have done the “Science created these horrible creatures” too many times!

Sorry dude but american’s will watch anything! Doom got $18 million and Resident evil got $17 million when they where out! It’s because people have gone and seen it because they are fans of the game….doesn’t mean it’s a good film :p
