Review: Bootcamp Windows XP on an Intel Apple Mac

For many people the idea of having their desk cluttered by two computers used for sharing data between Mac OSX and Windows XP may soon be a thing of the past. This program is called Boot Camp, which is available as a free download.

There are many advantages for setting Apple as your homepage, one of these is the ability to be kept up to date on information such as the launch of a new program called BootCamp which allows you to run Windows XP as well as Mac OS X on your Intel Powered Macs.

One of the downside to such a method of switching operating systems, you need to reboot so you can access one or the other. Now on average, and as expected, when you install Windows XP on an Apple it should take about 45 minutes to install the operating system, which must be purchased separately. Performance is what you would expect running Windows XP on a similarly configured PC.

For all my “Anti-Windows” posts, here’s an image that might ease the pain:

One good thing that many Windows users will enjoy is that all your favourite games install and play at top speed without a hitch. For hardcore gamers, there really is no option. Boot Camp is the best way to run Windows games on a Mac.
